Yep. The story behind it is.......the cart original belonged to my girlfriends grandfather. Her dad always borrowed it back in the day so they bought another one...he still has that one. I've always wanted his cart but knew he wouldnt want to sell it.

Well a few days ago I has helping her pick grapes at her grandparents estate. Noticed this cart sitting in the middle of a scrap/junk pile. Asked about it and got a "if you want it you can have it" I loaded it up and here we are...turns out after her grandparents passing Some one stole the wheels off it...and with her dad having one already they just layed it in the scrap pile!

Looking forward to getting it back into shape. I'll post some photos of the Resto

I happen to have a cart very similar to that sitting in my own junk pile and honestly had no clue what a #4 cart was until I saw your pictures here. I don't know what brand mine was but i'll be checking it out next time I'm at the acreage (regardless I think some white & yellow paint will suit it nicely)!

From what I recall the one I have came with wheelbarrow rims/tires but I'm not sure if that was original or a hack-job repair by a PO. The wheel bearings were all shot so they got pitched a while ago and has been sitting in the same shape as yours for a while now.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
