Thanks AJ. I just picked up the tractor. No clue what's really in it. I plan in flushing it all out, but before I do that I'd like to figure out this leak.

So I took the line off and there is a hairline crack under where the clamp sits. Now onto finding solutions!

Sam, thanks. I did see that. I'm going to try a local place first that makes hydraulic lines. I've heard they do good work and while you wait. I'll let you know how I make out.

Just an update. While I'm working on getting a new line I drained out the Hydro Fluid and figured I'd share some of the photos.
![]() This is the sludge that came out looking like caramel. No clue what fluid they had in there. ![]() This is how the rear looked before I cleaned it out. Plenty of sludge and gasket sealer from the last time this was opened apparently. ![]() All cleaned up! Going to let it drain at least overnight and get the cover back on. |

Good man. Re-fill it like I told you and run it for a few hours and do it again and then put the good stuff in unless you are like me and plan on changing it every year. The Hy-Tran is awesome at holdin water. If you change it one a year it is a waste of $$$.

Sam, definitely following your advice.
I bought some of the stuff from NAPA to flush it out. Then, when I was at the Cub dealer for some of the other parts I needed I picked up the Cub fluid. It's a ways away from here to get to a Case dealer. The Cub stuff gonna be OK? |

Cub stuff is the same just WAY more $$$$ cause it comes in a Cub bottle. Gotta love it. The American way.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
