Mine are P rated on the 1500. But the are TRUCK/SUV/CUV tires. They are tougher than a car tire. They are rated for higher weights and pressure.

I put the BF Goodrich T/A KO on my wrangler, they ride smooth, quiet, and have good traction. Not the cheapest tire, but they have been making them for a while, and they are kevlar reinforced

The Suburban weights over 5,300lb 'dry' add oil, front and rear differential fluid, transfer case fluid, transmission fluid, and 42 gallons of gas....plus up to 9 passengers (not to mention XX lbs. of cargo, and XX lbs. of a trailer), and you get - I'm not putting anything less than LT rated tires on it.
Keep in mind, I don't want A-T tires/tread. Since I've bought the pickup truck, it sees the 'off road duty'. The Suburban will stay on the pavement from now on........

I ran a Cooper brand tire on my 99 Chevy Suburban. They had a highway tread and were a 6 ply tire. Traction wasn't a issue unless the 45 galion gas tank was almost empty and pavement was wet. I was getting 70000 to 80000 miles on a set of tires. The ride was good and the tires were quiet. I pulled a 30 foot camper and a 16 foot cargo trailer with my Suburban.
The Suburban was traded off on a new Chevy 2500 HD pickup last April.

Thanks Dale!
I did some more research on tires made by Cooper...and found the 'Mastercraft' brand. I'm leaning towards the Courser HTR, or the HSX Tour. I'm thinking Load Range C will be plenty, but they also offer a Load Range E in the LT245-75-16 size..............

Bill,
Glad to be some help. I think my tires were the Mastercraft brand. Suburban was traded for current truck last April. My Suburban had 15 inch tires. It was only a 2 wheel drive.

Load range E is 10 ply rated tire. The load rating is only meaningful if run at recommended PSI, which is 80PSI. On a 1500, the original rims may not be rated for that high pressure. Load range C should be more than adequate for you.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
