The "slipping" could be something as simple as a driveshaft pin sheared.

Maybe it's on a hydro that needs some minor repair, and thats what he's calling "slip", who knows. He dosen't live far and is a friend, so I'm going to have to get over there and look things over, take a battery and gas and see what happens. I'm sure I will need advice and help, so thanks to all for it in advance.
Congrats on the FEL Kevin!
Looking forward to pics!

Stopped by on the way home from work thurs and looked at the FEL. Its a Danco. Its on a 14hp gear driven, not sure of the model #. I am heading over with tools, gas, battery, ect this am to get it on the trailer(i hope), If I cant get it to run I hope to pull it up with some chain falls or come alongs. There is another one there that is missing 2 wheels that is also a gear drive that is the one he said went with it. It has a motor in it, but not sure what Hp. Any ideas as how to load a non running tractor other than muscle is appriciated. Hopefully will have pics posted today.

I winch is the best way to get them loaded up. I've used Evan's 1650 and a chain and used the brute pulling power to get it on the trailer but that takes up room on the trailer.

Well, I'm home with it and the parts tractor. Took the tarp off it and took out a huge mouse nest, checked the oil, the gas tank was empty and the choke and throttle was froze up. Put some gas in it and opened the petcock and the gas ran out of the carb. Closed it back off. Hooked a deep cycle battery up to the terminals, opened up the petcock held my hand over the carb intake(no air cleaner on it) and it started and ran. Gas quit running out of carb. I fiqure it must have been using enough that it quite running out as when I shut it down it still runs out. Pulled on the hydralic levers and up went the bucket. Shut it down and put the battery in the bucket. Started it back up and drove it up on to the trailer. Couldn't have been easier. I didn't have any slip in the rearend that the PO talked about. I did a lot of forward and reverse to get it out of the mud it was sunk into. It did keep popping out of reverse. Getting the parts tractor was a struggle by myself. But I finnally got it up on the trailer with come alongs and sweat. Don't have any idea what it is, The motor will turn over by hand. Not to bad for $350.00, what do you think, Good deal? Here are the pics:

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
