Sure does make ya wonder.

Guess that's why everytime I drive down the road, I've got a sore neck looking at every property on both sides of the road for some yellow or red.

Here's the cat 0 tiller with 8hp motor. Wanted to post other pictures in different post, but messed up. One picture is a 1811 that I just picked up a couple weeks ago for 75.00 and it runs. The last picture is my 1572.I have a cast iron rear from a 982 in the basement waiting for me to switch out the stuffing. To be honest, I'm a little nervous because I've never taken a rear apart. I kinda feel like the comercial that use to be on years ago, let me try to fix it boss, I never worked on a transmission before.

Luke,
Thanks for sharing the pics. Both look good, especially the 1572. Gotta love smokers.
When I took a first quick glance at the last pic, I thought it was an Amish tractor on homemade steel/concrete wheels. But then I actually looked closer and saw the barrel.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
