I'm thinking the engine was replaced. Does it have the original Kohler Mag 18 in place? My 1541 with same engine was a spec# 24647 (that is for the 15HP rated engine)

Well tonight I took all the spacers out and the shaft looks really good, but the blower housing was to close to the frame. So I used a 3/8 spacer instead of 1/2 and am calling it good. Thanks for everyone's help.

Yea I did they are suppose to be .469 lg I made them .500lg a 1/32 longer. I'm just one of those people that needs to know why there in there, because on mine it doesn't help the shaft alignment. I work in maintance so I'm all the time changing something to make it work better. I'm not sold on because it came that way it can't be better. I've experience that with $300,000 Italy machines and German machines. Leon

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
