Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

I would rather use the snow blower for that quantitiy of snow than the blade. Seems you have to travel twice as much to move it with spillage and all.

However, if it is light and fluffy, you'll wear it with the snow blower.

The way to solve this dilemma is with two tractors: one on the plow and one on the blower.

well as of 7pm when I measured in the middle of the front yard we had 19"-20" depending on where I stuck the tape and it's still coming down about 1.5"-2" an hour. That's straight snow no drifts. The drifts are much deeper. Not supposed to let up till after midnight. I cleared the 1st round about noon with the blade. For this much snow I could use some more weight on the back. I've already got 50lb weights on each wheel. Front end pushed a lot but not a big deal. When I put AGs on next year I think I'm going for some carlisle knobbys for the front.

Came back in and spent all afternoon getting the blower together. I had it apart to paint and it got too cold to finish. I bought it last year and hadn't mounted it yet. Found out from the manual(thanks Roland) I was missing 2 drop down extension brackets for the Mule mount. Any one have a spare set. Without them it works OK but I can't lift the blower more than 2".


Got it together about 6pm and hit the road again. Now that's the way to clear snow. The tractor mounted blower makes short work of this kind of snow. You don't need as much traction as with the blade because the only thing you are pushing is the blower. I have a big walk behind blower that works well but beats you up. Not so with the one on the tractor. Power steering makes plowing nice too. Tomorrow after I finish the clean up I've got to rebuild the carb on the walk behind as I left fuel in it last year like a big dummy. I took a couple of pics but it ill be a couple of days before I mess with dumping them.

I plowed the 1st time around lunch on Sat with 54"angle plow on my super.

I finally got my blower together around 6pm and started blowing. One of the neighbors had made a pass on the road between my lunch plowing and evening blowing.

My 1872 with 450 snow blower finally installed for the 1st time and ready to plow 6pm Sat.

Most of the work was done last night. This morning was just final clean up of the cars and driveway.

Didn't get as many pics as I would have liked but was kinda busy this weekend! I tried to get one from the drivers seat blowing snow Sat night but it didn't turn out.

Here is another from our second story balcony. it's actually 3 stories up because of the walkout basement. Kinda gives you an idea how much snow. The birdbath is 3+ft tall without the snowdrift on top. The bird feeder is over 6" tall.


Thought you folks would like this one from the little snow we had a couple of weeks ago. looking out the garage door as I was getting the plow ready.



I found out today that this blower does not like slushy stuff clogs up the chute real fast. It sure does the job on the dry stuff though. The walk behind does much better with slush.
I also need to add some more weight to the rear. That blower really lightens up the back end.

THAT is why I moved back from California. You just don't understand when you didnt' grow up with it.
