as a salvage yard you don't need to buy the best ones to just part them but right now whole tractors just are not selling I am running into a real problem now as I have some nice collector units and they just are not selling 70 100 originals and if they don't sell parts here we come I just don't have the room to store them

It does make me sick as well.

However, the sad truth is that these tractors are worth much more in parts than they are as whole tractors.

As Ray said, whole units aren't selling, some of the guys here have some pretty darn nice tractors in the "for sale" section that they can't move.

I don't know what the answer is... But one thing is for sure, I CAN'T BUY THEM ALL!!!

I understand the guys out to make money, buy geeze, these tractors are complete running units. And at this rate, when there gone, there gone.
Worst though is none of these tractors were put up for sale as whole units. At least give it a chance to sell as a whole
These tractors look to be in better shape than 90% of the one's I brought home. Buy em' up and part em' out. What has this world come to? I could say, put we're not allowed to discuss that

Theres a lot of people in the world that all they know is Dollar Dollar Dollar. The sad part is a Dollar is only worth about .03 cents compared to what it was back in 1960, 100 cents! I've said it before and I'll say it again, A Dollar would be of more value on a Roll in the Bathroom! And to think that people are so dumb to Trade In their OLD GOLD for worthless paper. I just can't figure it out. Part them "Good" Tractors! It Is What It Is, Dollar Ignorance.

Think about how many Ray has already saved from the scrap. At some point I may come out to buy one.

I still own 8 very nicely restored Cub Cadets that everytime you jump on remind you why you stay in the hobby. Perfect running, optioned, finely tuned and set-up working machines painting better than when they rolled off the line. I've also tried to sell such tractors though as well as some run-of-the-mill ones that ran and worked nice and the only email/questions you ever get from forums, craigslist, or even local anymore is "What's your bottom dollar?" or something they think is a kinder way of putting it. When people ask me that I either don't respond, walk away and say nothing when local, or send a stern not interested message. I don't like to be rude but after years of it and no one even asking if a mower runs or not before asking bottom dollar I just get tired of it. I'm sure I'm not the only one of us here that experiences this. I have my share of nice ones and truly hate seeing the number of cubs deminish over the recent years but can I blame people with how buyers are in today's market? Not really. Just a sad world for Cubs today. I fought the good fight years ago fixing up rough ones just to save them. Simply isn't feasible anymore.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
