Take a long jumper wire and connect one end to the positive (+) battery terminal. Start at the Ign Sw "S" terminal and work forward towards the starter solenoid coil. Touch the jumper wire to each device and terminal until you see the solenoid engage. You WILL find the dead spot.

Ok, found the culprit, the spring steel piece that wraps around the brake cross shaft and hits the brake safety sw was laying loose on that bottom grate / cover. It appears to hook on a tension pin thru the shaft but don't see what keeps it there, has something else fallen off that helps hold it on? see pic for the piece.

Well found the broken pc that was supposed to be connected to that spring metal so just wired it on with some good ol baling wire, all good.
