I keep it covered and just had a nice place built for it on the property but the spot is a little to far away from the garage so working on it is tough. Once I get this clutch fixed I can move her to the nice safe home I built for her. Oh and guess what, the spot just happens to be big enough for 2 tractors. Now how on earth did something like that happen

hey it does work. lots of people have old iron sitting in their yards and lots just want it gone. ive gotten quite a few truck loads by knocking on doors. don't hurt to ask.

Asking at the curb is one thing , to "scout" out some body's back yard is some thing else ; for get the gun , be ware of owner & his dog , consider yourself lucky if you get arrested ! ( owner one pissed off marine, dog great dane ,bull mastiff & st mix ( bear ) he doesn't bite , but the last guy who went against him left with 6 broken ribs, broken collar bone no teeth marks ! Good dog !

I have scrappers coming by our place every so often to see what we've put out for the trash man. If I have fans go out they disappear within a matter of hours. We typically use 10 -12 fans for the llamas in the heat of the summer and usually one or two quit every year because of the dusty conditions and constant running during the season. I wonder if I put out an old washer they would take that too.... hmmmm.

Around here a washer dosnt stand a chance on the curb. I used to do it for a living back before the kids . And I have people all the time stopping and asking to buy my cubs and other goodies. It dosnt help that all you see in mybyard is yellow

Usually YES!!! A scrapper will take any metal they can get their hands on. Around here there are alot of ads in the free papers and online that are asking to "haul away old appliances for free". They usually tear out out all the plastics and foam and then crush or flatten the light weight tin. And you would be amazed what a recip saw can do to an appliance. A/Cs are almost like gold. Big heavy, and if it leaked out the coolant or you "cut" a line on accident and it leaks out you can cut the #1 copper of the coil ends and still get a good ammout out of the unit in scrap and stock pile the #1 untill you have a good ammount. Hummm sounds like maybe I may have done this?? HAHAHAH.

A few years back I helped a friend clean out his storage unit. He was a big computer guy and had hundreds of old PC towers to get rid of but didnt want to pay for disposal. I told him I would get rid of them for him. I put them on the curb and put a posting on craigslist for free scrap tin on curb and to please ask no questions and take it. By 8am the next morning all of it was gone!! Couple pieces of plastic that were not attached to the cases or fell/broke off but would easily fit in any trash bag were left and he/I had to pay no disposal fees.
