Back from sandblasting. The yellow one had some deep rust! Pretty pitted. I have a primer with a hardener in it. Gonna use that. Most of the little parts are media blasted or wire wheeled and ready for paint. Need to get seals and 2 new idler springs. Know of a good place to get seals?

The best one has a pretty nasty weld on the rear wheel bracket ( bottom on right) and a couple of cracks. The belt cover has a hole in! Got some grinding and welding to do before I can paint...

Seals are expensive and I did a lot of research to get them. I got Chicago rawhide seals from ksc direct.com. Cheapest price I could find but still pricey. That is to say that your deck uses the same spindles as my 42 inch does but it looks like it

Must be different part numbers then. What's the part number that you're getting?

Finally! Got to work on the decks this weekend one set of spindles back together, And everything primed. Hopefully paint and reassemble one this week. I need to mow. Have to rob a spindle off the 44c ( which wont keep a belt on )I'm currently(not)using to get them both back together! Then I can repaint the QA36 thrower I disassembled and had sandblasted With the mowers. At this rate I'll be done by spring...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
