Another thing to think about those holes in the rotor. With a hydro you seldom need brakes to stop. About the only time brakes are used are for sidehill slippage and parking. Certainly no need to have holes in the rotor for that.

Got the rear end brace installed today, it fit like a glove. Also removed the center link, drilled and tapped it and put a new grease fitting in it, the original fitting has been missing since I've owned it. Tomorrow I'll refill the trans. I'm going to try Rotella T 10W30 in it. I'll let you guys know how that works out. Pics later.

You should be fine. A lot of guys are using that in the 3k tractors.

Nope no Hy-Tran in this one but I change the oil every 50 hours on it. It has the case drilled so all of the oil comes out of it so I don't need to encapsulate water. Plus the piston pump is a bit tired so I am going to see if this will help it work a little better. Used to use Mobil 1310 in my concrete truck hydros and Allison transmissions and most of them went 20,000 hours before overhaul. Wish I could still get that stuff.

Got the Old Girl all back together today. Took a couple pics of the rear end braces and the trans and engine filters after I cut them open for inspection. All good inside, I'm a happy camper. Took it out for a test spin to see just how much more rigid it is with the brace, WOW talk about stiff. Had one front wheel about 6" in the air and couldn't notice any frame twist.

All I'm gonna say on the brace issue is if your running an aluminum case Super or a GT and you don't have it braced you will wish you did when you crack it, end of sermon.
