the previous owner of my 125 couldn't get it to run for the same reasons, no spark. I swapped the coil when I got it home and it ran like it was brand new! since it sounds like your internal mechanicals are in working order, you should have an inexpensive fix on your hands! definitely worth the asking price.

I caught that! The Kohler K301 is the same principal as my Kohler K241, which is K301 bossed block, and therefore, does not have a stator. The Quiet Line Series garden tractors, like say, the QL 1250 have a stator in the Kohler K301 blocks!

Sounds like quite a nice tractor, wish we had some pictures of the 124!

Sounds like this tractor has been put away and preserved for years. That is worth the 250 just getting a nice clean original unmolested tractor. The engine will run if it has gas, spark and compression. If you can afford it buy it. I would!

That one got away on me, I hesitated and someone scooped it up. I did buy a Kohler K-361 today and that's what made me flake out on the 124. My wife gave me the impression dinners might not be as good coming up if another garden tractor shows up in my barn, nothing was said about another engine. I have plans for the K361 which could go into a Quietline or earlier wide frame. The 124 while it was neat and in very nice condition not to mention cheap would "NO OFFENSE" be more of a toy for me. If I did not see the K361 first the 124 would be mine. More fish in the sea.
