I did the same thing. I put 1.5" wheel spacers in and the grade 8 rod worked very well for me.

There slacking on the pictures, I'd like to see the 1.5" spacers.

I would have extra length of stud, and the long chrome acorn lug nuts. Reason is that I could bolt up a dual wheel set up, or maybe a unicorn splitter, and weights?

I use a set of setscrews 1.5" long that way I could use allen wrench to hold it to tighten the jam nut on the back side to hold stud in place
