Glad you got your 127 up and running. Like most of us here, it will be your first of many, especially if you have a tiller connected to it.

Welcome!
From another nubee.
I have noticed that the further south one goes, the more scarce Cub Cadets seem to be. Especially the IH built units.
So we are kinda oddballs in this cult I think, LOL.

P.S.
My stable grew yesterday with another 127 also.

Awesome first Cub, well done.

Just another note on Hytran, it is typically cheaper when purchased in larger containers from an IH/CASE dealer. By-the-quart at a Cub Cadet shop gets pretty steep after piling all 7 quarts into your cart.

Keep us updated, I love to talk 127/147 Cubs.

I think that is fairly accurate across the south. Around here I run into a pretty much equal blend of Cubs, Deeres, Suburbans and CASE GTs, with the oddball Gilson once in awhile. You gotta be pretty quick to snag the good Cubs.

I paid $600. I'm missing the deck hanger, but really only want it for the tiller now. The tiller turns smooth is there a way to oil the inside without taking it all apart?

If it works why bother? I like that it still has the belt guard. Not many tillers do.

I changed the hydro fluid, about 2 inches of "gello" in the bottom. It drives good now! New starter/gen belt 3/8x32. I still need to set the governor and fix a few things. Gonna plant Snow peas in a few months!!

I like the way you got it at eye level, good thinking with the engine hoist. The 127 was my first owned cub too, great start!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
