The 7hp seems to be plenty of power. I don't force any issues, and keep the job with in the limits of tractor and engine. Everything is a go! Thank you for the comment!

Appreciate it Sam! I found out, the more the blade is turned, the more the front of the tractor will slide pushing the big snow piles. The wide front tires don't help matters any either. Here, in this mornings picture, the blade is straight and no sliding.

Thumbs up

Going to get seriously cold here. International Falls is already at -18, and probably has a -50* wind chill. It will have been 20 years since the weather will get this cold here,... where I'm at. There will be snow,.........

I read a lot about members getting those IH Cub Cadets ready. I plan to report, on the coldest night we get, how the 71 starts if at all. Folks are gearing up the livestock, and having drinking water handy, in case the water freezes off.

Butler, P.A is planning to use beet juice mixed with their calcium chloride solution to melt road ice.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
