Default Pully on 149

Thanks for all the reply's and advise. Had the pulley off the s/g but don't remember seeing a spacer. Turning the s/g pulley around may work. I have the pto and bearing off the crank shaft but the bearing was sitting at the end of the shaft when I took it off. I have been soaking the shaft around the pulley with pb blaster but so far It will not budge. Drilling holes and using a puller is a great idea but how did you get the nuts on the bolts in behind the pulley. Can any one chip in about the lift arm? Without the bolt that I put in the top hole, it will nor raise the mower deck. Also I have mounted a 54" snow blade and I read some where on the forum not to lock it, what ever that means. Thanks for all the help.

I added to my post with what to do. Measure the outside bearing diameter. Add 3/8" to that. Now drill two holes equally spaced ( half the diameter from the centerline of the crankshaft ) using a "F" drill ( .257) If you do not have a "F" drill, use a 17/64 ( .265) . Now tap the holes 5/16-18 NC thru the pulley

This way you do not have to put nuts behind the pulley. ( which would be next to impossible )

The puller I used 1/2" thick x 1" wide material. I think 3/8" thick would work too.

If you give me the bearing diameter, I write down the measurements you need.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
