Thanks Allen!

Good deal Lew! You have my address, so just send the jacket. My name is spelled JONATHAN. LOL!
Yeah, at that price he should have been able to sell it quick!

Nice find. One thing these tractors make me wonder: Who drops $3-4k on a tractor and lets it sit outside and rot? For as much as these cost when new, I don't get how they can be in such poor shape sometimes. I'm glad you recued it, it is in a better place now!

Thanks Nitro, Frank and Mike! I been walking around it all day here at the shop. I didn't schedule much this week cause I have a lot of little jobs that have piled up here and I want them out. Before the end of the day, I ordered a carb and fuel pump kit and new governor springs for it. Pulled the deck and subframe. This deck (over than the front edge that they PO apparently thought was a bulldozer) is in pretty good shape. Isn't rusted out, and as of yet, no cracks. I'll feel better when when I get a compression check ran on it. I think it may have a leaking intake valve.

I called a guy about a diesel today. I liked the price, but he was out of them. I'll run the Briggs for a while.... or until it becomes a "broke and scattered". I'm going to run a compression check tonight. If it comes back with a weak cylinder I may rethink my strategy.

Spelling sounds right. That will look good.... should be able to read it if I hold my arms out to the sides.

Nice there Jonathan. That would be cool to put a smoker in a 582!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
