I've been buying this seat for my cubs. I like the high back.
http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...9222_200519222 It has the proper hole pattern for the seat springs, at least on all the wide frames.

I just bought the semi metallic heavy duty 1.25" strips, from mcmaster...can get a foot for like 4 bucks...then just used some sci grip (industrial epoxy adhesive) or could use jb weld and reef them in a vice

mjsoldcub, you can also sh tcan the plastic bushing in the top of tube. Use a 3/4 " id wheel bearing. When I did mine the bearing was a loose fit, so I wrapped a piece of aluminum duct tape around the shoulder and it fit tight. That and the nice 605 bearing upgrade makes a big difference. Can't wait to see the photos. Also, some guys are using a needle thrust bearing instead of the Nice 605.

That is looking real sweet. Is it a worker, or show girl? The white faced gauges look cool. I like that look.

Thanks, i appreciate it...it is a worker, although im gonna regret it...i am gonna take it to a couple gas/steam shows this year...i dont start out intending to do this (same as my truck) meant to get it running and use em, then i tear into em and spend so (too) much time and detail, and then dont want to use them!! I was going to wait til it was together and then go through photos and post a bunch...i do need to find a similar seat..no more than 12" high and with a steal back pan...really dont want to spend bunch of $ either...hooe my front tires come today...got the 1" spindles all done last night...just happened to get them with the new axle i got for 15 bucks..

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
