Well, I just spoke to the guy and I'm gonna make the hour-and-a-half trip to take a look at it after work tomorrow. I asked him just about everything I could think of, but forgot to ask about the hours on it. He says the engine and hydro run great on it.
By the way, will my narrow frame tiller set-up fit on this tractor? Ken |

Well, I drove out to look at the 169 today... It seemed pretty solid in terms of the engine and hydro. There were a few minor issues. Minor but costly. The mowing deck was rotted thru in several places on top. The guy wasn't willing to budge on price, and since I was financially stretching (because it supposedly needed nothing), I just couldn't get in that deep.
I think a collector would probably be happy to buy it, but that's just not where I'm at. The tractor is in Fitzwilliam, NH if anyone is interested. Thanks for everyone's input! Ken |

Sorry to hear Ken.
If that's the one I'm thinking of it doesn't have the correct engine anyway. It has an engine out of a 1650 in it. |

Sorry, it didn't work out, Ken. A better one will come along.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
