Steve, the guy you bought it from is a buddy of mine. I remember e-mailing you about a 782 two years ago, but I think you already had it sold, then I got a heck of a deal on my 1872.

Thanks guys, I do like to keep them going!! I still have a 4 digit O that's apart and needs to finish being cleaned up and restored (the only restored one I'll have!). The 123 is in need of a few things being done to it, but it's still here and won't go anywhere, it was my sons first tractor. Other than that, I have the 782D, a 782, and a 982 in addition to the 1772. I'll try and get some pics posted tonight as I get a chance.

Those are 2 nice smokers. I'm with keeping it yellow and white. Looks like someone added that rear plate too, check the rear for broken bolts and adding Sam's braces. Are you making your own hitch or getting one from Bill Ruegg? Check the driveline, especially the front and rear couplers. We need to see more pics of your machines, sounds like you have some nice ones.

As promised, here are a few pics of my other tractors. The 782 I will start a new thread on from the time I got it to where it is now. The 982 has power steering added, turning brakes, dual hydraulics, cat 0 3 pt and a mag 20 in it.

Oak, the transmission is actually good to go, that's the first thing that I checked! I definitely would like to add the braces however, and I will follow up with Sam on that, can never be too careful! As far as the 3 pt, it may come off of my 982 or I will pick up another one. That's my debate right now, I don't NEED 2 Supers! lol As far as the driveline, I was reading through a couple of threads on the upgrades to the driveline, and it is definitely something I want to address. As of now everything looks good and is running very smooth, so it's not at the top of the priority list. Thanks for the input!!

So I finally starting getting to work on the 1772. I had to adjust the position of the aftermarket hydraulic line, it was in the way of the center tunnel cover, so now that's installed. I got the side panel cut out to accommodate the muffler, cleaned and painted the muffler I picked up and got it installed. Had to adjust a few things on the left side of the tractor (when sitting on it) so I could get the side panel to sit correctly. Now that I've gotten those pieces properly fitted, it's time to start taking the front off, pressure wash and clean everything and get it ready for some fresh paint!

I did manage to run it for awhile today, and everything seems really smooth, trans is in great shape and hydro is adjusted right where it needs to be. For being a little rough around the edges, mechanically it was well taken care of. All of the filters appear to have been recently changed by the po and fluids look good!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
