Congrats on the 1650. A spring assist (assuming you don't have one) would have been a cheaper alternative IMO.

Actually I didn't just find one, I had a nos spring from my dealer. The valve still had both shims, so I left them in there.

Well, then I would say you replaced it. Not "installed a stronger one". Big difference.

You can use a spring assist with an electric lift? I thought about that, but i wasn't sure if it was possible.

I had an idea today about drilling and tapping the "plug" that the spring sits in and putting a set screw in to adjust the pressure? Bad idea?

It will leak. Just buy a spring kit. Or shim the old one. It's not hard. Why go to the time and trouble? Have you put a gauge on it? Are you sure that is really the problem?

Yeah, I thought about the leaking issue too. I haven't really messed with it. Been busy. I'll do like you said and get a gauge on it. I just get crazy ideas while I'm at work. Thanks for keeping me under control!
