Congrats!

You'll love these early Cubs. If you're not careful though, they WILL reproduce! Right Alvy?!!!!

My friend dropped it off on the lawn mower ramp at work. I took a look at it on my way through town. I will pick it up in the morning. She is really beat. I think all the tires are shot the high low lever is broken the clutch is stuck. On the plus side the engine does turn. It must be an older one from the looks of the air cleaner. I will see what it looks like when I get it home.

Looks like you got a really good deal, wheel weights, three point, spring assist... Lots of potential there. Great tiller too.

Yeah that one looks great. All there, deck, 3 point and spring assist, you stole it for sure. Would like to know if it's early with early serial? Great job, absolutely worth every penny

Wow....just like these fellas said, with all of those extras you got for $50, it was a very lucky deal you made. It is a 62 or 63, so I wouldn't be too concerned about the serial number. The fact that you got an original with those items should bring a smile to both your face and your wallet. Nice score!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
