No you can't remove the tunnel cover on a NF. He was talking removing the tunnel cover on his 149.

Getting those foot pad screws out can be a challenge. I've used a large (giant) screwdriver and put a crescent wrench on the (square) shaft and used that as leverage to break them free. Another trick is to weld a hex nut to the top of the screw head (put weld bead in the center of the nut) and then unscrew the bolt that way. The extra heat on the bolt I think frees it up some. You can use a cut off disk or dremel to re-cut slots in the screw heads if you have to to get a large screwdriver on them.

So the other end of that linkage, does that attach to the same bolt as the control arm linkage? It would seem from the pic that it does and that the break pedal must move when you move the control arm correct?

So can I just use a bolt to hold that together? Could you show me the hardware holding the linkage onto that bracket? The one I have was just hanging off from the brake pedal and I have no other hardware. Also, guess this one is a little bent right? Oh, I had to use my phone to take the pic and edit it so the only way to show what area I was having an issue with was to use some of the stamps. It was tossed between these stars or hearts

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
