Harbor Freight winch

I've always thought about mounting one onto a trailer for helping get those stuck cubs or ones that don't run up onto it.

I've had a HF2500lb winch on the front of my quad for 8yrs now.
I think I got it for $40 back then, never thought it would last this long.

Use is constantly in the winter for the plow lift and throughout the summer for everything else

Like to hook a ac/dc converter to it bolt the winch onto the I- beam in my basement workshop and use it to lift heavy objects.

Reading my mind on that one. Thought it might be helpful lifting cubs and engines.

I have one on my trailer and it works great for what it is. It's loud but I'll use it till it breaks and throw it in the trash and get another, can't beat'em for what they cost. I wouldn't use them for any overhead work, don't think they would be safe and are not rated for that. They other China tool store "Northern China Tool" makes a hoist that is rated for overhead work for a little more $.

I agree with the over head fear I'd just use it to do the lifting and then secure the item up with something more trusting.
