![]() ![]() I would keep it just as is, unrestored and original. I am more impressed by really nice survivors versus completely restored stuff that looks like it is a trailer queen. When I see them, I think "looks great" but with enough time and money thrown, anything can look just as good. What you have has a story to tell as far as why it was ordered in and then never used for what, 50 years? |

These were not cheap in 1965 either.
Paul I do believe you have this brochure.

Guys, thanks for all the nice comments. I was just lucky the guy happened across my website and needed money right away. It didn't take long to strike up a deal.
Darkminion_17 (sorry, don't know your actual name), it would be great if I could get a copy of that PDF manual. It might help me figure out how to get this thing belt driven. I have some ideas but can always use help. If you don't mind, you can contact me through my website at cubcadetman.com. I'd rather do that than post my email here and I'm not too good with the private message function. TIA Paul |

Yep, that's me -- cubcadetman.com. My son's are both computer guys so they set that all up for me and help me out occasionally. I've met a lot of great people though the website.
The Vermeer is owned by Eric Tyler. I haven't heard from him for a while, but he owns a lot of great stuff and is a super nice guy. He's helped me with a lot of information. Besides the Vermeer, he's owned two Danuser diggers. He sold one to a friend but still has one. |

Yes, I do own a Danuser digger. It's my prize find.
I've corresponded with Noel in the past but I haven't heard from him in quite a while either. He gave me a lot of help with my first groundsaw. |

Paul, I'll have to hop onto your website and check it out. I haven't talked to Noel in prolly a year or so. I really need to touch base with him. What a small world that you know him.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
