my plan from the get go with this tractor has been FEL. found that z482 at an auction for a hundred bucks and it has that pump on it behind the injector pump so i figgered bonus. seems like a great pump for a loader to me plus you couldnt find a cleaner way to mount one

I agree!

I"ve got a D600 sitting waiting for install into a gear drive. I was planning the same thing to give a GD hydraulics.

Scott Murphy did a nice one a few years ago. Google "Scott Murphy gear drive" and you will find the link. He does some very nice work.

Wasn't there a recall or at least a movement to replace that steel fan bracket with a beefier cast aluminum one? My 782D had one that I replaced when it developed cracks in much the same way yours did, and fell off. I was EXTREMELY lucky the radiator survived!

I've installed engine heaters on several Kubota engines and they've always gone in the head. The frost plug areas on the block don't have enough depth for the heating element. It's just a thin water jacket and the holes don't line up between the cylinders so the element could go in that larger area.

I thought this last night, but have never even touched a Kubota, so I didn't know. It just seemed to me there wouldn't be a lot of room in that water jacket.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
