Those ag's look great on the back. I'm sure with a little work you will have her running and looking good.

I drove home today about 3:30 from Ithaca so I know exactly how you felt on the roads. Not the best conditions for towing a trailer.

My trip home around 3:30 was improvement from the morning commute. Around 9am to noon the roads were bad, slush and ice mix. I was happy I didn't have a 900# anchor on the way there. Thanks again for the lead on this beast.

Verrrry Nice Tacosteeler! If it still has the Onan they can be a little finicky. You may have these links already but here are some good ones.

Hope you won't need this link anytime soon.

Thanks for the links Todd, it runs strong except at low throdle, it revs n dies off n revs n dies off. I am going to give it some good ole TLC. One of the links u posted I have seen before, I like the Kirk upgrades and will probally go that route. The PO mentioned he replaced a cam bearing in this engine.

Red is for the blood we shed.

Gold is to show the world we're bold.

Great pair of tractors! Love the old red heads!

You'll love the 982. Maybe its the deeper sound playing tricks on me, but I swear my 982 will leave my 2072 in the dust (both have 60" decks). I've still got some bugs to work out of my 982. If it took me 30 years to get one, I guess taking a couple more to get it right is acceptable.

This is my first red cub, I was not looking for a 982 specifically but I got one none the less. Today I fired it up after some cranking, warmed it up then put some sea foam in the carb and went ahead and played with the carb adjustments. It runs a lot smoother now at all throdle ranges. I can see the Onan needs all the tins ripped off and cooling fins blown out along with all maintence items. She is dirty n ugly right now, but I think it will clean up nice.

I've used SeaFoam often. Nowadays I add a few ounces of Berrymans to the gas whenever I add fuel.

Love the Onan sound and performance. The Onan can move a lot of snow, grass, logs.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
