Yeah, I'm on the north side of Chicago working. That's why I haven't been on much. Working, then not much time in the evenings. I'm staying with a friend, so by the time I get a turn on the PC I'm tired, LOL.

I hate snow.... would be OK if I had a cub and blower to play with!
i thought you didnt get tired or need to sleep, you must be getting old.

Yeah, it's not a bad area.

I've been here since last Monday night. I hope to be done with the job by Friday. I'm ready to go home, LOL.

LOL. Yeah.... Well, when I'm in my shop, I have to do so many things during the day, it breaks up the monotony. Plus, I go sit at the desk and order parts, talk to customers.... jump on here and answer a couple questions. On site work like this is constant 8, 9, 12.... hours. Wears this guy out. I still only sleep about 5 or 6 hours though.

What kind of gig are you doing up here?

About 5yrs ago I worked in a HD truck shop after my dealer got cut by Chrysler. Wasn't bad as it was only two minutes from home. Pay cut for sure, but close by. He had accounts with Gypsum Supply & their main competitor (ABC Supply? I can't recall) to repair/maintain all there crane trucks.

Seemed ok when we worked in the shop. Had a couple guys on the road everyday (WI, IA, IN, IL) put them up for the night a few times a week. Eventually they all quit, and the main road guy wanted out, so he let him go (as in fired him).

He decided I should go on the road- that sucked. 3 days min each week & min pay for travel, days were usually 8am to midnight (no joke) & hoped to be home by 11pm Friday night. & then half the time send us out close Saturday, like Rockford, or Elkhorn, etc.

I did it for maybe 6 weeks & said the heck with it & quit & went & drove tractor for a HS friend of mine for 2 months until I landed the job I have now. I've never been fired or left a job prior to that.....he actually called me & tried to get me back about a month later. No thanks.

Guy bankrupted his shop, restarted under another name & just closed that one down about a month ago....not to mention he lost a parts store he opened too. I'm not one to wish bad things on people but I've got to think that he got what he deserved the way he treated people.

(That's the very condensed version of the story, I left out ALOT of details about how he treated people)

I sent you a PM.

I was subcontracted to help a shop keep up with work during the snow. I've been putting a motor in a 2 ton service truck.

We're kind of derailing Tim's thread...... It's about his weekend, not mine.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
