Blocks are the same yes..... but crank, rod, jugs are different. Same bore, different stroke. You can't just switch jugs and have a 20. It would kill it as it wouldn't have enough stroke and lose all compression.

So if I find a used block m18 or m20 and use all my parts from my old motor I should be good ?

It needs to be a motor from a CCC. Crankshaft size varied between different tractor makes. For example: Deere cranks on the PTO end were longer and larger diameter. The M18 and M20 used different carbs. So.... you really need a complete motor. A CH Kohler or a Vanguard will also work with some minor modifications to the engine mounting plate. PTO off the M may not be a direct bolt on to the Vanguard but I believe it would fit the CH.

There is a "new" M20 on Epay...Will have to look up the Spec number to see what crank it has...

I would go the repower route....I have a CH20 sitting on the shelf just waiting for the M18 to go in my Super....
