I've used a 0 tip to wash with hundreds of times. It will peel paint. Never hurt anything with it, other that stripping paint...... but it is aggressive.

Yep gonna power wash and degrease it before I paint. Thanks for all the info. And by the way my ID tags are shot. Where can I get new tags? Vinyl or metal?

Your on your own. They don't make them. I suggest trying to paint yours. Don't leave them off, or replace them with vinyl. It's better that the numbers are there and the tag has no paint than the numbers being gone. Vinyl won't last.

I thought someone had a thread and a link was posted for blank tags that said IH on them and you stamped your own, they even had rivets too? Or was that for big tractors?

I'm ok with vinyl, knowing that I would just put it over existing tag.

Yeah, I've posted that a few time, but someone said the tag was slightly larger than what they used for CCC's. It's really close though. If we could find out who's making the tags, I'm sure they could reproduce the CCC tags too.

Wash away...
I DID NOT say DON"T do it!!

Knock yerself out Bud...

Good luck finding all those terminals and connectors when the time comes, specially on the newer machines. Why invite trouble?
I'm dealing with a machine right now that was neglected that has multiple wiring problems and melted connectors due to moisture, corrosion etc.
I've been around the block before a few times.

we used to power wash dad's 125. The worst part was trying to start it up too quickly after it was washed and all the S/G would do was spin on the belt and not catch.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
