When you say "no threads left" do you mean that the nut is about to come off of the end of the rod or the nut is screwed all the way onto the rod? Also, how wide is the deck on the mower?
Unless the deck is the 46" deck, a B90 looks like it should be pretty close. As Roland said, pictures would be helpful as well. |

Thanks for posting the lengths DWayne.
But 954-3003 comes up as a 5/8 X 89" belt not 72" Also IIRC, the 954-3042 should be 104.9" from what I found last night. |

Those are the lengths posted in our library. You may need to contact Roland about the correct lengths. I haven't had an 1811 so was basing the answer on our current info. Sorry if it is incorrect.

That belt chart was originated by Charlie Proctor. Seems there is some errors in it.

Yes, the adjusting rod is almost all the way into the frame with the nut just hanging on the last thread in order to get the notch bar adjusted to the "B" notch. I went on the net looking at pictures of 1811's and I noticed that the adjusting rod was sticking out quite a bit. If I adjust the rod to where it is backed out like in those pictures the left pulley is pulled way back towards the cutting deck and the notched rod is no where near the "B" notch. The deck my sister told me is something like a 38". She has a bigger one that is in the 40's. Not sure of the size. The camera I have is an old Kodak 35mm where you have to get film developed so I would have to find film then get it developed in order to post it here.

The correct belt for a 1811 tractor with a 38C Mower Deck is: IH-144409C1-----> 954-3001 Mule Drive Belt

Dont give up! That is a GREAT tractor and once you get it sorted out it will treat you well.
Is there any way you could get a video of whats happening? Or pictures? They would be worth a lot of words (I hear in the thousands) |

It's starting to sound like either the belt you have is not a true B-90 or the deck is not mounted correctly. If anything a B-90 belt should give you extra length on the adjustment rod.
If your sister has a second deck, my first thought would be that the 38" deck got mounted on the wrong hanger assembly but I don't know if that would make a difference. I don't know the differences between the different hanger assemblies. I will take some pics of my 1811 tonight. I think I have the 44" deck though but i should give you an idea how it should be mounted. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
