Air and fuel filters OK? Had an illegal come into the parts store with an air filter holding about 1 inch of crap packed on the outside, all I got out of him was"Bobcat lose power".

I'm going to let J-Mech continue diagnosing this one wanted to throw in my to see if I'm on track if this were my problem. Sounds like that's a breather hose and the "stream of white smokey looking stuff" sounds to me like there might be a gasket that's leaking antifreeze into the oil. Could also be a something with a piston allowing compression to enter areas of the engine it should. Have you checked/smelled/looked at the oil to see how it's doing?

We had a diesel in with symptoms similar to what you describe and it turned out the muffler was plugged almost solid.

You just failed diesel engines 101. If you can't figure this out you need to pack up the tools and never get them out again. Good luck!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
