The little curved plate under the seat has a push button switch mounted in it to activate the starter solenoiod. I guess the main keyed switch didn’t work & that is how they fixed it. The deck is around 48or 50 (didn’t measure it), it has some rust holes in it. It also came with another deck, not sure of the size of it either, around the same. It needs blasted & repainted, has rust, but it is heavier gauge than the one on it. It has the short upper arms for the 3 pt hitch, but not the lower long arms. Also has the rear plate made for PTO, but no PTO. It seems like its full throttle RPM is lower than the full throttle RPM of the 682 I have. Also if the mower deck is on & you try to run the forward speed as fast as it will go, it bogs down. Not sure whats going on there.
Turf tires have got to go! LOL ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I guess from the number on the deck, it is 48” ![]() |

That's some seriously nice paint on the sheet metal if it is original. Looks like the yellow deck is for a much newer Cadet, possibly a replacement deck?

samckitt - Good thing you didn't get into an accident. You were probably looking too often in the rear view mirror admiring that new SUPER!
You say, "if the mower deck is on & you try to run the forward speed as fast as it will go, it bogs down". The 1811 I bought just last summer did the same thing. All mine ended up being was the high speed mixture screw was too rich. I kept turning it in until I got peak power. You might have the same problem? PeterJ

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
