As much as I hate to admit it my friends 2284 with the tilt was nice.
I put a steering wheel off a 105 on my 102 and didn't have to hunch over as much and it was pretty good.

I didn't buy my Cubs for comfort. I wanted a well built machine to mow, garden and clear snow.

I'm happy and find mowing on my 125 with a 42" cast iron end deck very relaxing after working in the shop.

Comfy? That would be my 1872 with the power steering, and the thin egg crate foam under the seat cover makes for a "comfy" ride
That power steering helps out the shoulder tremendously...

I like my 1200. Has more room it seems between me and the steering wheel. And it was the first cub I drove so. Lol

My 982 is comfortable to ride. The Onan is pretty smooth.

Comfortable is not compatible with nostalgia nor is it compatible with functionality. The old cubs are sure awesome machines, but methinks most of you guys would wet your pants if you drove around on a GTX2100 or a XT3.

Now as far as a full functioning IH Built 1811 or similar with the full suite of attachments and dual stick hydraulic outputs and a PTO is pretty hard to beat, but comfortable compared to a new CC GT with foot control hydro like the GTX2100 or XT3GSE, electric power steering (yes...electric, just like ATV's and RTV's and snowmobiles have had for years) and you guys would secretly shed a tear. It is what it is.

I am thinking second is the 3000 series. No other CC, IH built or not comes close.

I'm with you fellas. My 73 with metal seat and spring just feels right if the temperature is warm. When it is cold though, I freeze the cheeks on the metal seat if I do not put my cushion on during the winter on that metal seat pan.

I can't believe I'm saying this, I think the 128 may be more comfortable than the 2072 or 982. The Supers seem to be stretched out just a bit much, and I'm 6'1". I do think I am going to like my 1811 the best when it is put into service.

i think you'll love the 1811, its a great tractor. i agree about the supers being stretched to much, im 5'8" and its not as comfortable as my 1811 which is why i decided to sell the 1872.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
