Nice collection Fred. I'm in southwest Ohio and I fell into this whole Cub Cadet family by accident when I bought a rare 882 to mow my lawn. I had no idea it was collectible or that there was an entire Cubby community out there. I just wanted to find out how to fix my tractor and here I am.

I like your handle "Farmall Fred". We'd get along fine. In addition to my 782 and XT2 Cadets, I have a '45 H, a '47 Cub and a '48 Cub.

I'm not from anywhere near Ohio, but welcome anyway.

In addition to my Cub Cadets I also have a small collection of Farmall tractors. I have a 38 F-20, 44 M, 54 SMTA, 56 400, 59 560 Turbo Diesel. Also farm with IH and Case IH equipment. The family still has the first tractor we bought a 1941 Farmall H and everyone bought since and all are still used at times.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
