My current mower, promise you won't ban me from posting on OCC,, LOL it's a LTX1046 with a 20 hp kawasaki

Nothing to write home about. I bought it new a few years ago at home depot, because I needed a mower right away and there were not any older cubs in my area to be found. It has a 160 hours on it, I have not had any problems with it other then one idler pulley and a deck belt. I like the KW, but the rest of the mower is not built to last.

Here are a few more pictures of the 2182 & deck & plow.

You told me what you paid for it and all I'm gonna say is that Lew would be drooling.............

Give it some TLC and it will last a LONG TIME. Well done.

The 1046 is going to go on Craigslist next week. It will make someone a decent mower for a acre or 2 of land. I have 4 acres it was a all day affair to mow it with the 1046. The 60" Haban outta cut down on seat time...

I also have a 782D with a 50" deck, that I've had in hibernation in my shed since 2013. Plan to have it up and going in July. So between the 2182 & 782D, that 1046 can hit the road....

Yeah, I'm happy with the deal I got. What I didn't tell you was how far I had to drive to get it, but that does not matter I wanted one so the trip was worth it....all 1650 miles of it Thankfully my truck gets good mileage, I only used $175 worth of fuel.

Next week I'm going to change all filters & fluids and grease all the zerks. Speaking of zerks, they are everywhere on the 2182, my 1046 only has two.

I'm also going to order a set of braces for it. I want to put a 3 pt on it and buy a few attachments for it. I have some dirt work to do this fall.

Sounds like it has found a good home. That is a long way to go for a Cub. Where did you go get it?

It was in St. Genevieve MO. I've only seen 2 Supers on my local Craigslist in 3 years I been watching for one. 1 had a blown engine and the guy still wanted $1,000 for it, 2nd one sold in minutes of being listed I was the 8th caller in under 20 minutes. Every Super I see is back east, so I was committed to driving if I wanted to get one....

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
