I do it like George did, I install the mule drive/gear box first, it's easy to align the pulley and bell this way, then I install the 2 lower side bar with their shaft, the drive shaft, the 2 top side bar, the lift rod and finally the chute "rotator".

I don't know why but I feel as a fracking parrot!

I have a dolly that I place under the thrower in the spring and lower it onto. Unhook it from the tractor and roll it away. In the fall I do the opposite, the dolly makes it easier to wiggle in place. Also I find that if you tip the qa ears up, you can just catch the Frankenstein bolts then raise the pins and slide it all back in place before it falls off the Frankenstein bolts and drops to the floor.

I have a Qa36a on a 149 tractor. Have had it off and on twice since I have owned it. It is currently mounted to the 149 and I have vowed that it will not be taken off again. I will buy me another tractor before I take it off again. Just too old to try to move that thing around. Have a great day.

I use Berwil's trick too, I have a moving dolly I roll under the blower, makes it easy to stash away between seasons. Not quite as good as 2 hands, but better than a sharp stick in the eye!
