That might be enough, but no guarantee.

This morning I finished cleaning the gasket surfaces with a wire brush on the drill and some carb cleaner. The tube of "Ultra Black" oil resistant is almost empty so I will pick up another tube of it today. I have some gray but it doesn't say oil resistant on the package. Should I worry thar the paint is pealing inside the housing?

I've used Ultra Gray and never had a problem. Don't worry about the paint inside. Let it sit for a day after you silicone it before you fill it with oil.

Since I had picked up a tube of Ultra black I used it. I watched a YouTube video about using it. It said put a bead on, let it set 15 minutes before bolting it on, tighten the bolts lightly, wait and hour then torque to spec. Sounds a little Voodoo like but that's what I did. I torqued it 3 times, 10,25, then 30. I'll wait til Thursday morning to put the new filter on and fill it up. Thanks for your patience.

I think you will be good to go. No warranty expressed or implied.

The tubes came in yesterday afternoon so this morning I took a couple of Advil for my back and took the tire off the rim. At some point I need to start paying to have this done. I was surprised to find the rim this rusty, maybe somebody put some kind of sealer in it. Anyway I need to wire brush the rust off and get some paint on it before I put the tube and tire back on.

I don't even bother doing tires anymore. My tire guys does them for about $5.00 and no charge if I buy the tire from him. My back hurts just looking at that pic.

I know I should go ahead and do the other tire now but I'm not going to. I'll do it when it starts leaking. I got it wire brushed and primed with rusty metal primer. I need to read the primer can and see how long I need to wait before I paint.

Tire work is not hard work if you work smart.
I'll admit to being over 70, and do them all, from a wheelbarrow tire or motorcycle to 38" tractor tires.
I'm no superman, I just use my head and tools and leverage to accomplish what I need done.
Some day I'll slow down when I'm old, but not yet.

If it's heavy, I use the loader, chain fall or come along, if it is difficult to turn, I use a longer bar.
No need to fight anything, just work smart.
I do admit experience helps, but today we have the internet for things one has not done previously.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
