Well, thanks for sharing. What a great place to show you smashing up the very thing we collect. Yes, this is a great thread. I see parts in the stack that I sure could use. But, you say it's junk, so have at.

Just a thought, you may want to talk to Patton about selling to them before doing the scrap thing. I get it that sometimes you just need to clean house.

Obviously he doesn't get it..... because he's buying more.

You have more machines than Patton acres and your hauling them to the junk.

This thread is really out of line for the forum in my opinion. I best just stop before I really tear into someone. Wouldn't make me so upset if I didn't see good parts in the stack. Unless everything is rotted out or broke. In which case, keep it to yourself. Don't post it on here

Throw open an invitation to all Cubbers in the area to come out to your place and wheel / deal on what you're wanting to get rid of. Make it a 1 or 2 week open window. Who knows, you might get rid of quite a bit and I know you'll make more $$ than the scrapper will give you.

Just a suggestion. Then we won't cry as much when you post things are going to the scrapper.

I guess I the odd ball in this group, it honestly doesn't bother me to see stuff like this go to the scrap yard. I tossed some stuff for a 36" timed deck the other day along with some other stuff that I saved that I will never use because I didn't want to bother trying to sell it and ship it.

If Patton didn't want it, it's not hard to come by.

Agreed Sam.

It's yours, do what you want with it. When I was growing up ownership was .999 percent of the law and you could do what you wanted with it. I still go by that. It's not your duty to be a parts provider to everyone that may want a part. If everyone would be an organ donor I'm sure that would be appreciated too but that's not the case.
I'm sure that if you never owned one Cub those needing parts would surely find them or do without. Good luck with your cleanup and if you continue with new Cub additions to your yard, that's your right too!

I'm sorry I clicked on this thread. I thought somebody was thinking about selling some stuff. I know scrapping goes on but I try not to think about it.

What a waste. You will need something from the stack. Why on are you buying more?

I don't have much of a problem with what he's doing, looks like the trailer is loaded with all the stuff you can't even give away. I have a pile of frames and junk sheet metal sitting here and I guarantee if I posted it up for free not a single person would come for it. Should I let it sit in my yard and rot away and make my house look trashy or give it to the scrap man for what little money I can get?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
