K series Kolher, kinda like this.

Would a 301 fit in a O. But yeah it belongs to my 14 Year old Nephew, just felt like if it could do more than just pull a cart all the better. Lot of history with this cub as my brother worked for a local farmer that he bought it from 20ish years ago. It had a blown engine and a broken axle housing. He got it running and we used it to mow yards and pull around hedge posts. I would drive it down to the local elevator to buy a pop as a kid. It used to have a old Briggs 9HP engine that was pull start and it was all i could do to get it started. Oh that is a Wegele in the photo and nobody touches another mans Wegele.

Agreed. Get the mufflers on there and let's see it eat. I like how the engine is color matched too, like I said before, unique.

An old friend back home that has given me a few tractors has a custom stretched O with twin 161's in line with a stretched hood, still belt drive. I like seeing the home brew ones that are done right

Are those front wheels attached permanently? Looks like the end of the spindles are welded...
I like a "custom" as much as the next guy, but I'm not to excited about this one. "I" like the custom that looks like something that Cub should have built.
In my opinion, and that's all I can give, is "my opinion", overall, don't trip my trigger.

You made a good point there!

At first the title of this thread rise a flag telling me "Bad idea". Wonder why?

The drive system use a half inch belt, a 7hp engine is perfectly adapted for this with just the right amount of torque to make it dependable and reliable. Now he swap that monster in there and didn't consider any driving upgrade to transfer that power?

The 1 to 1 ratio is nothing to worry about, this thing must sound like a
Cessna Hartzell 3 blades propeller but without a well adapted way to transfer the power this design is prone to failures period.

What will work? Maybe a twin half inch belt or at least a 5/8" belt, who knows? In aviation they use the name
"experimental" to classify that kind of work so your on your own. I suggest you take care of that gas tank issue first
and deal with the headache thinking later. Good luck.

Yes its custom but it is by no means harmed in anyway to not be fully restored to factory. The front spindles are not welded its just a stack of washers. I get people become tense when anything custom is done. The ag tires and weights are mostly for looks. I would never pull a sled with this thing and ever expect that little belt to last two seconds. The deck is driven with a 5/8 belt and has an electric clutch and should have no problem handling the power for mowing duty. I agree the gas tank is crap and will be replaced. This mower was so broken when my brother got it most people would have scraped it. I know not everyone will like it but I love sharing in this hobby and looking at everyone's hard work. Thanks for the kind words.
Ok so I did get some better pictures of the deck.

Nice picture of deck baffles.
Not to change the subject, but they do make a difference!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
