If you want a 3000 series service manual try this link

http://www.mymowerparts.com/pdf/Cub-...epair-Manuals/

Scroll down and select the manual you need, they show two for the 3000 series.

I'm not sure if you can get to the relief valve or not as seen here. I never had to do that yet. I wish this pic was a little more close to the pump.

If you have to remove the pump you could probably reuse the o ring if it is not crushed or damaged.

If you have foam in your oil you may be sucking air into the system. If the po crushed that filter somehow I would do a good check on the hydro suction tube as seen here.

It wouldn't hurt to get these o rings from McMaster Carr and replace all of them on your hydro lines. $15 worth of these rings will do about 15 tractors so 1 bag should last a long time. There are 2 different rings on each line end.

Not as easy as a long extension and a swivel on a rachet to tighten the relief valve though.
J Mech is has become obvious to me that you have never worked on a 3000 series transmission. If you had you would know there isn't a tool in your tool box that will allow you to remove the relief valve without removing the charge pump. I can only assume that your ignorance is because of the angle of the picture or you have hit your head to many times against that brick wall. I wanted to know if there was an air purge procedure or anything else I could try before ripping the pump off. My suggestion to you when replying to a post is to stick to what you know and lose the condescending attitude.

You apparently don't know what tools I have in my box. I'll lose the "attitude" when I need help fixing my stuff.

If you are so confident it can't be gotten to, why are you asking if it can? Get it off and get it fixed.

I love it. You're the guy asking questions, and I'm the ignorant one.

I gave the guy advice. I don't think I was obnoxious or rude until I was told I am ignorant and I should stick to what I know.

Im well aware I'm not "God".

Out of respect to you, ill drop it.

Default CC 3184 transmission pressure relief valve leaking

Tried an air purge procedure I found on another website to engage transmission release lever and rock forward/ reverse pedals several times. No help, pressure relief valve still leaking. Removed charge pump and replaced o ring on pressure release valve and as well as all o rings on lines to charge pump and suction tube near filter. Started tractor and engaged all hydraulics and no more leak at pressure relief valve but noticed a very small leak coming from between hydro transmission and differential. Tightened hydro transmission mounting bolts and it took care of the that leak. Thanks to all who replied with their suggestions for now I have a very good running CC 3184 with front hitch and 54" blade for $200.00 plus small cost of some o rings.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
