That cart was made out of John Deere garden tractor square and rectangular tube shipping crates.

The JD dealer had them piled EVERYWHERE and was happy anytime someone wanted a BUNCH of them.

There were an amazing number of shop benches made out of the rectangular shipping frames,,,

Yep, the right one was on, the left one was laying on the ground,,,
The rest of the plastic looks OK also.

The battery is dated 2012 (R12), so, it may not last long, it is an Interstate,,,

The diesel sure starts easy, it cranks like a 6 HP gas engine on a car battery,,

Awesome news Cad! I'm glad that you were able to get it and it sounds like it will be well taken care of now.

Are there any recommendations for a proper seat replacement?

I think this one is too far gone to be "fixed" with one of those slip on covers!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
