This was at Ohio Plow Day a few years ago.

I think I would try to do things a little different....Pump and tank would be under the hood altho from the looks of that the hydraulics engage with the pto lever.
I don't think there will be enough room under the hood. You will have to extra heat from the motor which could hydraulic oil to overheat.

I have seen pictures in Red Power Magazine of a Cub Cadet 104 or 124 if my memory serves that had an Inhofer Groundsaw. They are extremely hard to find because they weren't a common attachment and because they got really beat up. To top the trencher, the Cub I say with one also had an aftermarket LPG conversion on it. How cool is that!

Thanks Merk...thats another part of the puzzle because that tells me the creeper gear is slow enough for the trencher..Your probably right about the tank and fluid temp...

I am new, as of today. I looked at the Trencher shown by "Transformer" and see that it is very similar to mine. The trencher shown in the picture was kept in better condition than mine.

I have started the process of repairs due to neglect and outside storage for all those years. The engine, hydraulics and drive now all work very good.
I was lucky and also found all the information on the Vermeer trencher, that was installed on the Cub Cadet. Vermeer actually has all of the old files for this unit.
I have done a few trenching jobs, free for neighbors. It does build good will in ranch country.

When I have the opportunity I will upload pictures.

Hank

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
