Pulled the carb put on one that I had and then cleaned the tank, unstuck the lift handle, and it has no slop.
The hour meter works, shows a little past 1:00 o'clock.
Ran out of time to get it started so tomorrow is another day.
Pictures for you.

Nice find! I can see all the differences in the late model 1450 that I’m aware of. That could one day fess up to a fine late model example, the first enclosed engine compartment, and the last yellow, white, and blue before the best had yet to come,.... great rescue partner👍🏻

It has been repainted, it is peeling in spots. Prolly part it out if it has issues with the motor....I am not a QL person.

Today was a good day, after changing some ground wires and putting some new connectors on, it runs and drives with no creep.
I do not see any leaks, or smoke, but the driveshaft has a wobble up by the motor.
There are newer ISO mounts on the cradle and even the seat bumpers too!
I gave it a bath today and noticed that only the outside of the rims have been painted...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
