Once again thanks for the compliments on the wife and cub. Got the cub running this A.M. For sure looks better than it runs. Needs a carb rebuild, a new coil that one is cracked through the tower and sparking all over the place, a set of points and the head gasket is blown. The clutch is way out of adjustment and the exhaust elbow is only threaded in one turn and is really loose. I guess I have something to do in the morning. Other than these few setbacks it is a nice machine.

I am with gcbailey....My wife would be looking at the junk around the Cub at a garage sale - wouldn't even see it. Heck, that "thing" she has always wanted could be hanging off it and she wouldn't bat an eye! Nice score!

Mountain Heritage she still is the best. I am a little worried now cuz she says I owe her bigtime now. I think she is sceaming on another Boxer dog. Could be worse I guess.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
