So, I decided to put some info up for you. BTW, This can all be found in manual which is readily available online. It shows in great detail where the carb and idle screw can be found. It shows a whole lot more than that as well. Like all the things you should do before you start arbitrarily adjusting anything. These new engines are not like the old. With automatic chokes and EFI computer controlled fuel systems are not the kind that you just turn screws until she smooths out. Hope the info is helpful..

Had you come on and asked "where can I find a manual to aid in adjusting my carb on a 7000 series kohler?" I think 1 reply post would have ended this thread.

Thank you very much. I'm 75 years old and have owned numerous lawn mowers and tractors. I've always been lucky and ran them until they wore out. Some 20 years or more. I just bought this Cub Cadet last July and thought from the sound it idled a little fast. I just wanted to turn it down a hair. It came with a an owners manual and users manual neither of which showed where the carb screw was located. Perhaps I'm daff and overlooked it.
Again thank you and I'll eat your last sentence without comment.
