it should spark properly, if not, you have an electrical problem.

I did check spark. And it has good looking spark outside the cylinder. I'm gonna get some intake gaskets and replace those, see how it goes from there.

Kinda upset with myself over this, I sprayed carb cleaner all over the intake gaskets to rule them out when I started dicking around with this thing and nothing happened. It must have sealed with the caked on dirt and grime. I cleaned it better after I tested it, so whatever seal it had with the dirt and shit must have went away after cleaning

Don't be upset with yourself (easy for me to say). A new set of intake gaskets is better than a more expensive problem. Right now, you're out of pocket a shiny, new coil and a set of gaskets. Not the end of the world.

If you've been getting the amount of rain we have, you won't be able to mow until after July 4th anyway...

Got intake gaskets today. How handy is it that they come with a sticky side to put on the intake so you don't drop them?!

Went to take off the intake, started with the working side loosening all of the bolts. Worked to the dead side. Once I got to the dead side, I put my ratchet on the bolt head and low and behind they were backed out. I just got the mower last year so I've never had it apart like this.

I chased this problem for a while now, rebuilt the carb, replaced a coil, and spark plugs, compression check and all of the fixins lol. All for the intake bolts to be loose lmfao. Needless to say while it was apart I put in the new gaskets and boom. Runs like a top again!!!! Tha ks all for the insight. I was really at my wits end.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
