In my case since I am not considering a Vee twin but instead want a flat twin, I THINK it can sit on top of the frame.

hehe, not quite... first, I have yet to see a horizontal twin in a NF... but maybe I should poke around on some GT pulling forum...
Also, I have the loader and have yet to install it and have the spindles to make the heavier front hubs, and even a power steering setup. Should prob finish those add-ons and then worry about the engine later... ![]() Still would have been nice to see some of these swaps... maybe if I do it, mine would be the first? lol

LOL you guys... this is not rocket science! Bolt down an M18 engine (which is not tall) to a plate on top of the frame (or angle irons), fab a drive shaft, make the necessary hookups, turn the key...
who wants to hold my beer...

Yup but I got one thing workin for me on that, this is supposed to only be a front end loader, and the hyd pump will most likely run behind the hydro pump (saw that idea having been done on here). Not much need for pto that I can think of...

I direct mounted the hydraulic pump to the "front" of the motor on my 149. The tractor is used with the FEL and rear attachments, but will never cut grass again. I actually just removed the whole PTO set up and put on a pully to run the S/G.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
