Squatch:
A hair dryer and a minute's worth of your time probably would take care of that problem. :biggrin2.gif:

I think aaron designed that tool box so it would clear a sleeve hitch setup and that casting piece comes real close to the fender so that pintle might be fine in the open position

Squatch: I like the hitch setup on your 1872. Where did you get the plate that boxes in the rear of the frame? Do the bolts on the lower hitch plate go all the way into the rearend housing? How much tongue weight will the pintle hitch handle? I'd like to get a similar setup for my 1912. Thanks, Mike

The plate doesn't bolt to the diff(aluminum diff). It bolts in 4 places to the rear frame rails. The hitch itself will hold many tons of trailer. The tractor will not. But I have no problem moving 1,500lbs + with it. Last I looked you could get the hitch from TSC. They are $85 to $100 and come with various ball sizes. Mine was 1 7/8 but I bought a replacement 2" ball for it from a trailer place(special ball for these hitches). All my trailers are now 2" ball including my log splitter except the m416 that's a lunette ring for the pintle. Just easier that way. Here are some pics that might help. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() this guy here sells a similar rear plate and some hitches. http://www.xtrememotorworks.com/ Back to tool boxes. |

Just a quick note: The toolbox I ordered arrived yesterday. Aaron's work is superb! Beautiful TIG welds, tight fitting lid, precision crafted. Well worth the money.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
